Greatest Gift Returns this Weekend

Friendswood students will be featured in Friendswood Contemporary Ballet’s original production, The Greatest Gift, this holiday season.

Friendswood is home to many growing artists of all ages in all stages of their profession and Friendswood Contemporary Ballet, housed at Chara Christian Dance Academy, is giving dancers the opportunity to stand in the spotlight. In the fall of 2014, Chara launched the semi-professional ballet company, Friendswood Contemporary Ballet, and they debuted their original full length ballet entitled The Greatest Gift. Local students from Westwood Elementary, Bales Intermediate, Cline Elementary, Windsong Intermediate, Friendswood Junior High, Friendswood High School and Bay Area Christian School are making their mark on the stage and bringing excellence to the entertainment this holiday season. Performing with our local students will be Guest Artist Ms. Christa Beacham, professional dancer with the Texas Ballet Theater in Dallas.

“What I love about this ballet is that it is a compelling story with excellent dancers, and they are all students from right here in Friendswood. We have more talent in our city than most people know about,” said Nicole Mueller, Friendswood Contemporary Ballet director.

Families that have come in years past have made this production a reoccurring event for their families.

“Friendswood Contemporary Ballet’s productions are just beautiful. The emotion and the love the dancers portrayed in The Greatest Gift were felt by all members of the audience. We will be back each year for great new family tradition and so close to home!”

Friendswood Contemporary Ballet’s presentation of The Greatest Gift will take place Dec. 4th at Friendswood Junior High. Tickets on sale now by visiting www.friendswoodcontemporaryballet.com.
